June 2017 The Pinkney Law Firm, in conjunction with the Miami- Dade Family Court Services, presented Advocating for and Protecting The Best Interest of Children with Special Needs in Family and Dependency Law Cases with co-presenter Dr. Peter Caproni and introduced by the Honorable Judge Bernstein. The presentation was provided to over a hundred attorneys, advocates, and members of the judiciary. 2 CLE credits were provided by the Florida Bar to all attendees.
November 2016- November 2017 The Pinkney Law Firm will be presenting bi-monthly free Know Your Rights Legal Workshops with the City of Miami-Gardens, FL on topics such as Wills, Special Education, Foreclosure, Education, Paternity and Dissolution of Marriage Law.
February 2017 Attorney Charlene Pinkney-Ferguson was featured on Own The Vision radio program hosted by Jason Warner of Own The Vision Foundation in a program entitled, "Lady of the Law," discussing a variety of legal topics such as Paternity and Wills.
March 2016. Laverne O. Pinkney, Esq. joined the law school faculty at Nova Southeastern University
October 2015. The Pinkney Law Firm, P.A. donated more than 100 pumpkins to the Teaching Heart Learning Center Daycare in Miami- Gardens, FL along with Miami Gardens Mayor Oliver Gilbert III. More than 100 children and families came out for food, art's and crafts at the daycare's First Annual Pumpkin Patch.
October 2015. Laverne O. Pinkney, Esq. presented an Education Law training for the Miami-Dade Public Defender's Office at the Miami-Dade County Children's Courthouse in Miami, FL.
September 18, 2015. Laverne O. Pinkney, Esq. presented at Nova Southeastern University, Shepard Broad Law Center: Nova Law Review Symposium, Shutting Down the School to Prison Pipeline. Fellow speakers included the Honorable Peggy Quince of the. Florida Supreme Court. The Honorable Peggy Quince specifically commended Ms. Pinkney on her hard work in representing children in the educational and juvenile law system.
May 27, 2015. Charlene Pinkney-Ferguson, Esq. attended the Child Welfare Professionals Recognition Day at the Judge William E. Gladstone Miami-Dade Children’s Courthouse, along with Congresswoman Frederica Wilson, Miami-Dade State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle, State Sen. Dwight Bullard, Miami-Dade County Commission Chairman Jean Monestime, Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Cindy Lederman, Chief Judge Orlando Prescott and Judge Martin Zilber.
May 21, 2015. Charlene Pinkney-Ferguson, Esq. presented at the statewide Guardian ad Litem Disabilities Training Conference in Orlando, Florida to more than 450 Judges, Attorneys and Child Welfare professionals on the topic of Dependency law.April 2015. Charlene Pinkney-Ferguson, Esq. was appointed to serve on the Florida Bar Attorney Grievance Committee and The Florida Bar Statewide Advertising Committee.
